These well-equipped workshops, which comply with all safety standards and guarantee the highest quality, provide us and our customers repair and maintenance facilities.

Thanks to this network, we can deal with most technical problems very fast. Our own spare parts depots at central locations as well as sophisticated materials management speed up the repair process. This service ensures that your rail cars are returned in good condition as fast as possible.
As customer and partner of the workshops, we put great value on cooperating to refine technical standards and engage in preventive maintenance of our wagons, which means carrying out preventive measures in order to maximize availability of the units during the period of hire. An own decentralized expert and quality assurance organization ensures that our specialists are always on the spot where needed.

VTG Group also runs two wagon repair workshops in Germany and France (Brühl and Joigny). These centrally located service facilities form the backbone of the VTG repair concept. By servicing the wagons regularly ourselves, and with our attention to each single detail, VTG gains knowledge about the performance of all components of the wagons as well as opportunities for improvement. Thus the repair work also provides an impetus for innovation and feeds into the company’s base of technical expertise. Moreover, by carrying out our own maintenance work, the cost of this remains transparent and benchmarks are set for price, lead time and quality for such services procured from external providers.
